The Green Home Tour is an annual event hosted by the Colorado Green Building Guild. The tour highlights some of our most innovative green building projects and helps to promote the collaborative exchange of ideas on green building in the community.

We will post the application for homes to be shown on the Green Home Tour in mid-summer 2024. We are looking for homes that are currently under construction or finished in the last 2 years. For the upcoming home tour, that would mean they finished in 2021 or later. There are many ways that a home could be a “green” home, so make sure to share your specific ones in the application.

Yes! We will have opportunities to begin helping plan for the tour early summer of 2024. We will also have full and half day volunteers on the day of the tour, and will be posting these in August and September.

Because these are private homes, we do not advertise the locations or specific details until the tour. A digital booklet will be emailed to all ticket buyers before the 2024 tour begins.

While there is not a limited amount of time at each house, we do ask that you be mindful of your time in each home to ensure that as many visitors as possible will be able to tour the home.

The tour is one day only! Since the tour is self-guided, you can pick which ones you want to see and plan accordingly.

Nope! This is a self-guided tour, and you are welcome to go to each one in an order that works best for you!

Families with children are welcome on the tour. However, children 2 and under should be held in or in a carrier. Strollers are not allowed in the homes. Children 12+ will require a ticket. Please supervise children closely.

No. Restrooms in the homes will not be available for use. We recommend building in stops at cafes or shops nearby to take bathrooms breaks.

No, anyone can purchase a ticket to attend the event regardless of membership status.

In the past, the homes on the home tour have been mostly in the Boulder, Colorado area, but in 2023 that range was expanded to Nederland, Superior and Louisville in addition to Boulder. Stay tuned to find out where the houses on this year’s tour will be.
